The Basics
2048 is a puzzle game where you merge identical numbers to create higher values. The goal is to reach the 2048 tile or achieve the highest score possible.
Game Controls
- Desktop: Use arrow keys (↑ ↓ ← →) to move tiles
- Mobile: Swipe in any direction
How Merging Works
When two tiles with the same number touch, they merge into one with the combined value:
- Two 2s → One 4
- Two 4s → One 8
- Two 8s → One 16
- ...and so on up to 2048 and beyond!
After each move, a new tile (2 or 4) appears randomly on the board. The game ends when no more moves are possible.
Grid Sizes
- 3×3 Mode: Hard difficulty with only 9 cells
- 4×4 Mode: Classic experience with 16 cells
- 5×5 Mode: Easy mode with 25 cells
Scoring
Your score increases each time you merge tiles. The points added equal the value of the new tile created. For example, merging two 32s creates a 64 and adds 64 points to your score.
